Day 45

Begins with an outline of unlicensed frequencies and goes into joining technologies such as wifi, voip, and wimax together and how in the next few years all wireless phone services will be free, apart from initial hardware costs.
NICE!
Ars reports that the FCC wants to re-classify DSL as a information service rather than a communications service which would allow telephone companies to stop leasing their lines to companies such as Speakeasy and Earthlink. Competition would dry up and soon there’d be a nice fat monopoly for those that don’t have access to other forms of broadband such as cable or WiMax or powerline. Bye bye $19/month DSL!
