Alcohol ?= Tobacco ?= High Blood Pressure
According to three “leading scientists”, alcohol causes as much death and disability as the latter two items. All around 4% globally. However, I argue that the 4% of death and destruction is inaccurate because (I suspect) more people drink than smoke. Therefore out of the global 4%, a higher number are smokers than drinkers. (what’s the overlap btw :p) So it would seem that it’s not as bad as they make it look. But I don’t know about the hypertension population. Mixed facts and some smoke is what I say. But then again, the long time to liver damage make many think that excess alcohol won’t hurt…(does that include me?)
