Now THAT’s taking faith seriously! “please don’t collect my potential energy for use in powering an elevator b/c then that would violate the Sabbath rule against doing useful work.” In that case, I think it’s best that those of serious Jewish faith not walk across the lawn with cleats on Sabbath day because they would be performing the useful work of aerating the soil. Don’t want to do that!
