Sorry for the blurry image — pda-cam has a fixed focal length of like 3 feet so macros suck.
btw, Resco Photo Viewer for Palm just gets better with each point release. 1.80 allows you to crop photos now so you can easily take pics with the pda-cam or if your camera uses SD flash cards, just pop it in the Palm and clean up the pics and upload/beam from there.

I try not to make entries just because I feel like it’s time to. It seems this one might be a little forced and end up being like that.
Anyways, some random holiday and food stuff. When grilling outdoors and you have the choice between a cheap gas grill or a cheap charcoal grill, go with the charcoal. Not because it may impart a smoky flavor or because it’s more manly, but because it can actually get hot enough to grill properly. Few gas grills can match the heat output of red hot coals. And you never want to work with a fire that just ain’t hot enough. Your cuts of meat deserve better.
I think my next experiment will involve natural wood charcoal and not the Kingsford that contains other fillers. Matchlight is convenient, but we’ll see how the food tastes when it’s grilled with without all the other stuff.
And to continue on the subject of food preparation, my new cast iron skillet has been working wonders. So far a nice flank steak, fish, ribeyes, and onions and mushrooms have been blessed with it’s wonderful heat spreading prowess. The ribeyes especially were saved today by it’s ability to soak up heat from a smaller gas grill that had some problems with even heat distribution. The onions and mushrooms that were cooked in it afterwards soaked up the steak drippings and bits, mmmmmm, just so tastily if I’m allowed some literary creative license.
I can’t wait to see what it’ll produce when combined with some Prime grade dry aged cuts of meat. My mouth is watering.
