Basketball and Misc…
I balled for 2½ hours — 5 full court games. So tired. I think I played well. Picked up my offense a lot more than the last few weeks. Defense has been fairly consistent. I think I’ll miss playing games at the AC with these guys.
My sleep cycle is still way off. I basically just take 2-3 hour naps now when I get tired. I can’t sleep longer than that. My peak hours are from 12am - 6amish. I’ve been trying to change it but as you can see, it’s not working very well.
I’ve done extensive research on the STi now:
MSRP: $30995 + $550 delivery
Invoice: $28580 + $550 delivery
Weight: 3268lbs - a bit heavier than I expected but close to the Evo
Suspension: MacPherson-type struts all around - it’s interesting that the rears are also Macpherson — I would’ve thought they’d be some type of multilink that maintains a constant camber with the road; however it does specify “twin parallel links”, so we’ll see
I’m happy about the pricing though. It’s something that I can aim for when I have the means. There were also some webpages talking about how well engineered Subaru’s are how every bolt and component placement were thought through extensively.
I’ve also gotten a few more car videos. Can’t wait to drive again.
There were some interesting tidbits about shifting, especially from 1st to 2nd because that’s the greatest percentage difference in engine speed and transmission/road speed. There’s much more reason to double clutch and rev match, even with synchros.
On another note, Wayne (normal sized one) may make a trip down to Tejas after school is over. He’s revvin’ (sic) to test drive cars and get some mean entertainment. This should prove to be interesting as my friends from home meet friend from school. <hearty laughter>
04/16/03, The Game Just Won’t Be The Same
I found this link to an article about turning organic waste into usable oil and minerals. It’s got some very interesting information. I think it would make for a good stock investment if they go public.
I had to return my DDRMax game today. It is a sad day indeed. First it’s the last game Michael Jordan will ever play. Second, I won’t be able to play the game I love. I guess I’ll be hoping that DDR for the X-Box comes out soon so I can play it on John’s unit or that I’ll have enough money to get a PS2. Either way, I need to budget myself so I can get some decent pads.
The end of the semester is quickly rolling by and I need to work my ass off to do well. Future planning also needs to be done soon. I’m thinking about grad school cause I know I didn’t work hard enough in undergrad to do well in the real world. Sound Engineering, Automotive Engineering, and Culinary School are my top considerations. Plus I need to find a summer job in the meanwhile.
Another thing that caught my attention was the new STi. I think this is the car I want to get when I get my act together. That and maybe (still?) the RX-8. The STi’s more true to race form, while the RX-8 does has a more unique engine. It’s just more elegant to me. Although 300HP is quite elegant too for the STi.
I noticed at lowes.com that a lot of Kobalt Tools are no longer available. Is that so John? I still want to get my hands on the slim Craftsman 3/8″ ratchet with 6° swing action. Have you checked out the rest of the Ultimate Garage? He’s updated it to include some landscaping outside.
Well, that’s it for today. If anyone has any tips on how to stay focused and study hard, please send ‘em in.
Anime Series
I just finished watching Outlaw Star. I enjoyed the ending. I watched Cowboy Bebop before that. I guess I’ve been watching a lot of stuff, as usual.
Which puts me far far behind on my work schedule. Sigh
Alright, I guess that’s it for now. No plans, just floatin’ along.
