A ball, 10 pins, and 60 feet in between

Went bowling today. I tried to consistently use a spin and it actually worked well. I got 131, 92, and 142. Not bad for using a new technique. I think I’m gonna get some kind of online tabulation thing going to keep track of my progress for bowling and other activites. (DDR comes to mind <grin>).

Nerd Fact: I also looked up some information about bowling alleys: Apparently, the first 12 feet or so of the lane is maple which is then followed by pine and then the area under the pins is made of maple.

Observation: This explains why the lanes don’t dent that easily. (I think it’s also cause the lanes are actually horizontal sandwiches of wood — approximately 40 sheets of 2¾” thick maple.)

It was also Corinna’s birthday celebration last night. (I believe her actual b-day was -two days ago- today.) Happy celebratin’ to you.
