I’m sitting here watching the episode after Ross’ marriage to Emily. Man, Rachel is such a selfish person. Who would be so uncaring and self-centered? Boy she sucks.
Edit: She’s also frickin’ needy as h*ll…
Ok, rant’s over. But more on Friends…Joey seems to be a very caring person despite his incompentence. And it’s cool that Chandler and Monica gets together.
Alright, bugger off now…

Now that I’ve finished the 3rd season of Friends, its time to move on to the 4th. Phoebe is a nutcase and Rachel’s hmm…kinda shallow and needy. Ross is a huge dork and Joey’s dumb. But I’m sure you know all that already. So, onto more exciting news.
Formal was a decent hit. Food was cold, open-bar was not so well stocked — only beers, malt-beverages and wine. They even charged for non-alcoholic drinks. But the place was sort of nice. Had a classy theme to it…emm, kinda like the prom in 10 Things I Hate About You or The Karate Kid, Part 3. They gave out martini glasses with the AAA logo on it for party favors. Hope everybody had fun.
Oh, feel free to leave comments ;-).

So we lost our playoff game today to the other Asian team. But it was great game. Everyone gave it there all. Wayne demonstrated the art of midair collision with his handful of receptions and rebounds. Me, I scored 1 point. It was definitely easier to push people around when they aren’t 50 lbs heavier than you. I’m really glad I played IM basketball.
Well, it’s time to get ready for the formal. I think I’ll be bringing a pair of sneakers for comfortable dancing. <g>

I also went rock climbing this evening at The Upper Limits. It was fun. My forearms were dead after 15 ft. into a climb. I shouldn’t have worked out the day before. The place is fairly decent — bout 50 ft. or so high with maybe 20 open routes. It is a bit pricey though. Hopefully I’ll be more prepared next time.

The new version (2.6) of movabletype is out. I just finished upgrading. Big tip for windows users: remember that all the new .cgi files need to have the path-to-perl updated. I was running into 500 Internal Server errors until I remembered that little detail.
I also found out that my video card does indeed have the better DAC as I looked in the properties today. That was cool.

Lots of new and exciting (mundane?) things happening. We’ve decided to have a maxout day next-next saturday so Edwin and Kevin better be ready ;-). Maybe it’ll be a double plate day. (You better get crackin’ lunatic68).
I watched the first season of Friends yesterday. I believe it was 24 episodes in 12 hours. I’m beginning understand more of the deeper character issues. Maybe ½ of season two today? Haha.
I also installed a new video card yesterday — I should’ve done more research first. It was kind of an impulse buy. I got the Radeon 7000 (basically a VE). The 7500 has a better RAMDAC (350Mhz v. 300Mhz in the 7000). At least it was cheap — $41 w/ S/H. But anyways, the video playback is much better. All of the Radeon series have good hardware decoders so the picture quality is much better than the Matrox G200 I had previous. The G200 didn’t do so well with up/down sampling so many times the picture was quite pixelated.
Oh, finally I suppose, the AAA formal is happening this weekend. I think it’ll turn out to be quite interesting with the cast of characters that are going. Perhaps too interesting.

I went to Winter Conference this weekend and Family was the topic. Turned out well. Didn’t have too many issues to talk about. But I did get inspired again to work harder on guitar.
I did learn a couple of things from the retreat to building a good family:
1. Take initiative (in dialoging with family members) and be persistent at it.
2. Forgive and reconcile with your parents it you don’t want to turn into them.
I really like the initiative part cause that’s something that everybody can be better at. Bum said that of course everyone has good intentions but they need to be acted upon to make any difference. Anyways, to jump around, the main passage was about Joseph and his relations with his brothers and his father. It’s a good read (Genesis 37-50).
In other news, I’m going to design a digital equalizer for a class of mine. I have one partner and I think we’re both quite excited about it. Now I just need to figure out what a fast-fourier transform (FFT) involves…
